Cross River State commissioner for health,Dr Henry Egbe Ayuk PhD received members of the National health insurance authority on a solidarity visit

The Cross River State commissioner for health Cross River State,Dr Henry Egbe Ayuk PhD has reiterated the ministry commitment in Resuscitating the state health insurance scheme under the the National health insurance authority.

Dr Ayuk made this known during a courtesy visit paid to his office by members of the the National health insurance authority CRS on Monday the 16th of October 2023. Pet media can authoritatively report

The group led by their leader,* Mr Stanley Effah other notable members was on a solidarity visit to congratulate and celebrate the Commissioner on his appointment; expressing their appreciation to His Excellency Senator Prince Bassey Otu for acknowledging and rewarding hardwork by appointing a professional medical personality Dr Henry Egbe Ayuk PhD as a member of the State Executive Council in his government.

*With each member taking his turn to speak,the group went further to present the following request for kind consideration by the Honourable commissioner.
*Implementation of basic health care provitional funds(BHCPF) in the state.
*Mandatory health insurance scheme.
*Formal sector implementation in the state and sundry issue of empanelment and access

  • Social register,need for NHIA to access it in line with earlier request and the need to upgrade the register to meet up with current reality within the health insurance ecosystem.
    *Discussed the the subject of high level advocacy by NHIA management towards: strengthening the health insurance ecosystem in the state via technical support,NHIA Prototype building and NHIA VGF/ BHCPF.

In his response, the honourable commissioner,Dr Henry Egbe Ayuk noted that their visit and appeal is timely and welcoming.

“Health insurance, Access to quality of service in the health sector are key to the ministry in with the Government people’s first mentra. Our Free medical program/services for children, pregnant women and aged people will be implemented adequately from bottom to top.we will leavarage on people’s first mentra to deliver on this in both Basic and primary health care.” He added.

He however advised them to maintain the spirit of true character to work and commitment while expressing the ministry commitment and readiness to work with the National insurance authority to bring the good tidings of health to the people of Cross River State and Resuscitate to sector in the state.
