Institutionalize Incentivized Systems to Improve Staff Performance in Higher Institutions- Ayuk

The Cross River State Commissioner for Health, Dr Henry Egbe Ayuk has advocated for improved incentives to encourage staff performance in institutions of higher learning in Nigeria.

The Commissioner who was speaking at the maiden Awards Ceremony of the College of Medical Sciences of the University of Calabar on Friday advised Universities and similar institutions to institutionalize policies to strengthen reward systems to enhance performance and attainment of goals.

He said that human resources remain a most important factor for organizational growth and scorecard performance. He praised Prof Ngim Ngim the Provost of the Medical College and his team for organizing the week program to reward retired workers of the college, former management staff, sport men and women and students with peculiar skills. Dr Ayuk urged other institutions to emulate this pace setting example to provide a excellent work environment for staff promotion and performance

Earlier the the Provost of the College Prof Ngim said the program to incentivize staff and students of the medical college was conceived to immortalize hard work and encourage staff and students to commit more to the service of the College. The occasion was witnessed by distinguished personalities within the university including the Vice Chancellor Professor Florence Banku Obi and the Deputy Vice Chancellor Prof Angela Oyo-Ita
