(ME) My first question was sir, how do u feel about been honored with this award
(RESPONSE) I feel good and I have just realized that the good we do, nor matter how small God will always reward it
So I dedicate this award to God almighty for this singular honor and opportunity, I also want to thank the PET MEDIA & EVENT who found me worthy to receive the CROSS RIVER CENTRAL IMPACT AWARD
In my nature I don’t broadcast what ever I do for people and I have always want cameras be tone off when ever I do something especially for humanity, but to my surprise my name and every little thing I do for others still ring bells in the public domain, and I keep wondering on daily basis
I was born and brought up from the village and street so I understand the pains of having nothing, I understand the pains of wanting a particular thing but not privilege to have it, so my little help to humanity to me, I see it as a privilege given to me by God, that is why I always return all the glory to him with all amount of humility. I realized this many years ago as a struggling man that, (What ever we do for ourselves die with us, the only thing that lives and is immortal is what we do for OTHERS), that change my mentality and approach to life
When I was first given an official invitation to receive this noble AWARD, in my nature I don’t see receiving of Award as an achievement, I said no but this young man came to me and play my track record of scholarship from 2015 and even start mentioning names of widows I have reach out to, it sounds crazy but I was flabbergasted because outside my close friends who sometimes accompanying me to such places I don’t think anyone out there was privileged of this informations, so after he finishes I was left with no word to say but amaze

Etung LGA Chairman Distributes 10,000 Cocoa Seedlings To Farmers
In line with His Excellency, Senator Ben Ayade’s drive in Agriculture and in a bid to boost cocoa production in Etung Local Government Area, The Chairman of Etung LGA, Ntufam, Hon. Comr. John Nkom Etuk today distributed 10, 000 cocoa seedlings to Etung farmers.
The chairman who was represented by Hon. Mrs Franka Njong Ayuk, Vice Chairman of Council said the Hon. John Etuk’s administration was poised to ensuring abundance in cocoa production in the LGA, she also disclosed that Etung has the best variety of cocoa in Nigeria coupled with arable land favorable for cocoa production which is a major cash crop in the country and indeed globally.
The Chairman noted, as a measure towards boosting cocoa production and encouraging farmers in Etung LGA, his administration flagged off the cocoa seedling distribution adding that agro chemicals will also be distributed to the farmers to ward off pests and control black pod disease to increase their yields.
The Chairman, who pointed out that cocoa had been the major source of income for the people of Etung for decades, said the improved hybrid cocoa seedlings distribution would help in reviving cocoa plantation in the area.
The chairman applauded the Supervisor for Agriculture comrade Charles Assam for the role he played for this dream to be achieved.
The chairman also assured Etung people that before the expiration of this dispensation, Etung cocoa plantation will be establish by council.
Responding unbehalf of the cocoa farmers and beneficiaries, Lady Gladys Etta expressed gratitude to the Chairman, she said the initiative was a sustainable economic empowerment that would assist in reviving cocoa foundational farming for the people, furthermore, she said the seedlings would go a long way to boost cocoa production in the LGA, especially if the cocoa seedlings are utilise for the purpose for which there are distributed.

The world today is in a state of delimma where even political office holders no longer care about the well-being of their citizens. But among us today PIUS RACKBLUE ABANG a vibrant and talented young man who has chosen to become an embodiment of liberty, because of his love and compassion for humanity. He work so hard to make sure everyone around him is happy and comfortable
This is a man who is not holding any elective office nor any appointment from government, yet put in his very best in solving both groups and individuals problems. Over the pass few years he has recorded over 20 university students under his scholarship scheme, registered about 30 students who are less privilege for Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE), paying bills for the sick and sponsoring over 25 young people in skills acquisition. He didn’t just stop there but has pick interest in sponsoring those who are talented in music, sport, and many others activities that are beneficial to mankind.
With all this good deeds he has chosen to be mute on social media about his benevolence and remain humble and committed towards giving and rising generational leaders

MY COALITION WITH SENATOR VICTOR NDOMA EGBA IN 2019 SENATE RACE; The true story.
Frankly speaking, one of the moments I believe I took a political decision that didn’t go down well with some of my friends and political followers was the 2019 election. I won’t forget in a hurry the lessons I learnt in that political episode. I realized that there are decisions that may be politically expedient but leaves a moral burden that lingers.
My decision to endorse Senator Victor Ndoma Egba for Senate in 2019 appears to be a double edged sword; in a way, it brought my political stride to the front burner and on the other hand, it blurred the light of my budding political career.
I’ve known Senator Victor Ndoma Egba for many years as a family friend but I came very close to him in 2014 when as then President of Post Graduate Students in University of Calabar, I gave him award as an Outstanding Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Then he was equally seeking for a fourth term that was truncated by the brutal arsenal unleashed on him by Sen Liyel Imoke. I actually endorsed his reelection then because of what I considered his sterling legislative performance and some verifiable projects influenced by him. Let me state here that I admire Senator Victor Ndoma Egba a lot and I hold the view that he’s one of the best national figure from our state.
In 2019, shortly after we both became candidates of different parties in the race to represent Cross River Central Senatorial District, some of his key political backers approached me with the issue of endorsing the former Senate Leader for the plumb job. I declined bluntly because it was actually not in my contemplation at all. I went out with everything in me to push my stakes for the office. Truly, I had stupendous support from a section of the electorates, largely youths. I feel terribly bad that some of them felt betrayed. But it was definitely not for a plate of morsel like some people have thought and are still thinking.
As the youngest most visible candidate in the state for a Senate seat, I saw a lot in the course of my engagements with people. The demand for running election in Nigeria is too much and its deliberately skewed to scheme out the best from the race. It is worse when you don’t have financial support from anywhere. In my case, despite having a lot of supporters, I was doing the spending alone. I had financial support from only one person who is not even a Cross Riverian. By the end of December, 2018, I was financially exhausted and my business was almost grounded.
In January, 2019, just a month to the election, I held a meeting to appraise our chances in the election and to ventilate the last winning strategy. In the light of the unavailability of the required financial war chest to prosecute the final but all important stage of the election, the inner caucus members of my campaign organization persuaded me to oblige the offer to endorse the Senate leader in a coalition that will lead to a power sharing deal in order not to lose out completely. After a careful thought I reluctantly accepted to meet with Senator Victor for the first time in January ahead of February election.
Now, let me state here without fear of contradiction that globally there’s nothing wrong with forming a coalition between two of more parties or candidates with the sole reason of winning election. It is an accepted practice in democracy. For instance, the Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde probably wouldn’t have won his election without the backing and support of ADC, ADP, SDP and others. In advance democracies, coalition is needed to meet requirements for forming a new government when there is no clear cut winner in an election.
However, I am equally aware of the gross abuse of political coalition in our clime where big political parties allegedly swallow up smaller parties in what looks more like acquisition than merger or coalition. I’m also aware that most of the smaller parties are literally bought over by big parties and consequently become appendages to the bigger parties. In my case, I didn’t do any such thing. That’s why I still engage both the APC and PDP any day, any time because I wasn’t acquired by anybody.
A few persons have approached me with the allegation that I endorsed Senator Victor Ndoma Egba because he gave me money in exchange for my support. Some have consistently deployed it to represent an Achilles heel or a black spot on my political garment due largely to my political stands. I’m putting this write up to publicly debunk that allegation. I’m fully aware that some of the supporters of the former Senate leader are my friends and followers on Facebook, I make bold to say that I didn’t collect any money from him to support him. NEVER! I didn’t ask for refunds of my campaign expenses because I never contemplated running elections to be compensated as a candidate. I don’t use public support to curry favour. Our discussion was primarily centred on how to sustain my political structure in the event that he wins the senate seat. We also looked at the possibility of future political support for me to win election. I didn’t collect a dime from Senator Victor to support him. I personally sponsored even the press conference I held for that purpose. I wanted to retain my independence which I did.
Despite making this public clarification of what transpired between me and Senator Victor Ndoma Egba in the last Senate election, may I use this opportunity to offer an unreserved public apology to my friends and supporters who felt indifferent about my decision to endorse another person in the last election. I truly share in your deep concern and I take full responsibility for my indiscretion.
As for 2023 election, I don’t have plans to run for any office. I’m more committed to repositioning my party to win majority of available political positions in Cross River State.

I’ve declined at least five offers of appointment.
Cross River State government unarguably has the highest number of appointees in the country. The race, crave and craze for appointment has been unprecedented, fueling the narrative that if you’re not in government you’re not politically relevant. So, you must do everything to get there.
One of the weapons often deployed by Governor’s media apparatchik against critics of the state government is the claim that their criticism is borne out of failure to get government appointment or patronage bla bla bla. I’ve been a victim of this narrow thinking severally. Actually, not everybody criticizes government for personal gains, some do it out of genuine quest for a change. I’m putting this out to refute that erroneous view.
I have had the privilege of being offered more than five appointments by those who have the ears of the Governor. I remain very grateful to them for extending that generosity to me knowing fully well that thousands are on the queue desperately lobbying for the same thing.
However, I turned down and declined all the offers for very obvious reasons. First, as an activist and Chairman of an opposition party in the state, it is my considered opinion that you don’t take appointment from the same government you’re criticizing when no visible change has taken place. This is because accepting such appointment puts you in compromise position and activates table manners. Remember that you can’t talk while you’re eating. Conversely, it is even suicidal to contemplate to fight from within in a system with weak and very subservient structures. To accept such appointment means to endorse the very same rubbish you spoke against and by so doing you ‘off your mic’ by yourself.
I’ve heard people tell me, “take the appointment and serve your people’. I’ve even been accused of not willing to offer my services to the state. This is really not correct. I’ve served the state in the past and could still do so in a better organized administration. I maintain without fear of contradiction that what we have in the state now is nothing but a charade. Even those in government understands clearly that the state currently is a sinking ship wobbling helplessly to the shore of 2023. Really, we can’t wait!

I can tell us for Free,that a close look at the personality of the dual carriage capacity,humble, visible, pragmatic, proactive,responsive,responsible, timely,dogged,able,commendable leader of the good people of Etung LGA,Hon John Nkom Etuk revealed nothing else but a leader with impecable character, great sense of responsibility and as such, his integrity, credibility and quality representation is not in doubt anyday anytime.
He is a good man with a golden heart for his people with or without politics.
I have kindly read about politicians and politics,I have equally felt the impact of one or two or more politicians,whether good or bad, therefore, I make bold to say, that Hon John Nkom Etuk is one leader who doesn’t play politics with everything and that’s the Democratic spirit of a true leader.
No genuine leader is without heated tracks and the “chief of light one of Etung” is not an exception.
This truism is evidential with his mega achievements within his stay so far in office even with relatively small resources.
When a man makes a mark the law of nature knows how to commence him. And so, we must continue to pray for our leaders and in particular Hon John Nkom Etuk.
A good leader is a good leader no matter his stringest nature when it’s come to administration and impacting humanity positively.
We must therefore, continue to see that the projects of government are collective and not just enlarging the gap between us and government.
Sincerely we are the government and We must rise to add value to our Local system by giving weight to the flaming policies of the transforming leader of Etung LGA,Ntufam hon comr John Nkom Etuk and by extension all other leaders across the globe.

Nothing is indeed wrong with us the youths, we know exactly what to do and how best to do it. We have excel in every field of endeavor and Agriculture can’t be an exception.
As funds are set aside for Abroad Educational and Industrial training of the youths, let same support be made available for us to get involved actively in agriculture. Review our land tenure system as a Nation to give land holding rights to youths with interest in Agriculture, make deliberate lending policy that youths can leverage upon, establish more Agricultural Research Institutes and refurbish the old ones, encourage Agricultural Researches in our Universities and make hybrid Agric Species available to the youths at little or no cost, make youths who have excelled remarkably in various crafts Ambassadors of certain food crops so other youths can be encouraged to grow same, make export of agri-products less cumbersome with a tax free regime so as some youths can delve into export as an Agri-chain, build roads to make marketing of agri-products easy and transform the rural environment to make city life less attractive to the youths. This and several others are measures that when carefully followed and executed, an average Nigerian Youth will contribute meaningfully to “transform the food system,and make the youth innovative enough to promote human and planetary health”.

I have NEVER solicited for money from any politician.
I made a promise to make thought provoking revelations about myself and to also correct some wrong assumptions about me as part of my 43rd birthday postulations christened, YOU THINK YOU KNOW ME?
Let me start by saying that I am an activist first before becoming a politician. I have been against bad governance right from my secondary school days. I am in politics to offer service to the society. I’ll one day leave the political stage but will never stop activism.
It is erroneously assumed that all critics of government and politicians are the same. I often feel terribly bad when some ill informed folks carelessly put me in this category. This hasty generalization can be very misleading.
I’m fully aware that most Cross River State politicians and their aides are on social media and most of them know me personally. I say it boldly and confidently that I have NEVER solicited for any personal financial assistance from any politician, elected or appointed, old or new. Although, I admit that there’s nothing wrong asking for money from politicians but it has been my personal principle not to do so.
I decided to make this clarification not necessarily to elicit any ovation for myself but to put the records straight. I’ve been misrepresented in some quarters and occasionally wrongfully accused by people who barely know me just to score a political point. I’m also aware of desperate attempts in some quarters to disparage me and to dent my hard earned image. I move with my shoulders high because I know for a fact that NOBODY can contest this claim.
On harmonization of the gap between old APC members and the new decampees in APC CRS
Equity makes for inclusion of the interest of all and a true synergy is quite necessary to avoid imbalance between old and new members of APC CRS.
We are aware of the fact that most political appointees supported His Excellency Sir Benedict Ayade and hence they were appointed into his government while he was in PDP. It is also a fact that they have been enjoying the fruits of their loyalty which began while in PDP and now extends to them after defecting to APC.
However while the new decampees to APC were in PDP with the Governor most of the old APC members were in the trenches, most spent their money, some went to prison, some lost jobs, some got impoverished, lots drained all they had in the process of keeping the party alive before the Governor’s defections with his team, some even died while carrying party’s assignment.
The structures of APC have been kept alive by the sweet of old members though we can’t deny the fact that the presence of new members have truly made CRS an APC State. Therefore, the new decampees must be more inclusive to balance the interest of old APC members with the rewards they have shared alone before joining APC to avoid bad blood and anti party.
It is unfair to have it all while in PDP and come into APC to continue to enjoy same privileges alone in an attempt to sideline the original sustainers of APC CRS by virtue of appointments and political offices the new decampees occupied in PDP before the defection.
I guess one thing may not have been done right or not adequately taken care of by the APC National leaders before the Governor’s defections. The lacuna is that there was no adequate harmonization of interest to include the old APC members and their interest before handing the leadership of the party to the Governor.
Unfortunately the leaders of the old APC block are not doing much to help the harmonization process to include the interest of old members because most of them are solely after their interest and very ready to sacrifice the old members of APC to be in the Governor’s good books.
It will be a great deal of imbalance to build consideration for recognition in the leadership structure of APC CRS on the basis of political offices or party positions occupied before defections of new PDP members to APC because it will give a bend towards recognition of only the new members to the near neglect of old members.
The governor should be appealed to, to fulfill his promise of 500 appointments to old APC members expeditiously to help fill the gap. Obviously, not all of us need appointment and I for instance don’t need any appointment from the State except there is a vacancy for Federal appointment. I speak solely for the sake of the need for balance and inclusion of old members of APC as a reward for their sacrifices before the Governor’s defections
APC CRS is a large crowd today that must be managed carefully to avoid implosion and anti party activities in the build up to 2023 elections. Politics is a game of interest and if interest of both old and new members is not well harmonized, there will be divisions that may rather weaken the party despite our numerical strength in CRS. Defections alone or large numbers in a party does not win elections. St. Vincent De Paul will always say that give me a small army of committed soldiers and I will defeat a crowd of uncommitted soldiers.
Harmonization of interest of old and new APC members in CRS is key in getting the needed commitment to win elections. Politics is the game of interest and members of a political party get more committed when each person’s interest is factored into the electoral gains of a political party

Ntufam Hon. Comrade John Nkom Etuk Showers Gifts On Orphans As He Marks His Birthday
The Executive Chairman of Etung Local Government Council, Ntufam Hon. Comrade John Nkom Etuk yesterday showered gifts and cash to the orphans at the Abundant Love Motherless Babies Home in Ikom as he marked his birthday.
According to him, his pledge to always identify with the less privileged is not unconnected with his promise to God in appreciation of His goodness upon his life.
While addressing the orphans, Hon. John noted that celebrating with the orphans has always brought him great blessing and joy as it gives him the satisfaction of impacting the lives of the less privileged.
He assured them that their biological parents may not be with them but all the people of goodwill are their parents, and will do everything to fill the vacuum created by the absence of actual parents.
“Each time i see you, i feel i have a lot of children. Let me assure you that even though your biological parents are not here with you, we are here as your parents and we will continue to share with you in our joy.
“You are precious gifts from God and we pray that God will raise leaders from among you who will lead after his heart. We are not special or different from you. We are all the same, i encourage you to stay focuse, pay attention to your studies and the discipline you are subjected to here as you will surely need it on your way to greatness”.
“There is no greater contributions as these in national development. Helping these special children to become useful to themselves and the society is a great contribution to the national development”; he enthused.
Some of the children who spoke said that they were excited to have him in their midst especially on his birthday.
“I feel very lucky and special that the Chairman has chosen to spend his birthday with us, Other big people would have gone to Calabar or other big places to celebrate their birthday but he has decided to be with us. We don’t have parents but today i feel as if it is my father that is celebrating his birthday” Moses said.
The Chairman was accompanied by the First Lady of Etung Local Government Council Mrs. Maryann Nkom Etuk and political appointees of council.
Mention those that served Etung in his capacity, and be sure that his name will be written in gold.
In the face of financial muddle within the current Local Government System and overall weak revenue of our Council Area, he built to completion within 3 months a state of the art Legislative Chamber upon renovation of the entire Council structures and complete ornamentation of the surrounding with well fitted furnitures for a good working environment. His policies on Agriculture, Health, Education, Youths, Sports and Culture are all people focused with a well articulated execution plan.
Ntufam Hon. Comrade John Nkom Etuk is a noble leader and a carrier of great grace and vision. It’s indeed a privilege to serve under your able leadership boss.

The acting Paramount ruler of Etung LGA Chief Raphael Agbor has inaugurated the Etung cocoa landlords committee with (Rtd) AIG Mbu J Mbu as chairman and Barr Hollis Bassey Isong as secretary.

In his acceptance speech the fearless police man popularly called the Lion started that, Haven’t rejected a lot of offers to serve in one capacity or the other considered it necessary to accept this responsibility bc it directly have to do with service to his community.
The frm commissioner,Hon Gab thanked Etung people for giving all all the committee members the opportunity to serve stressing that he accepted the responsibility considering the integrity of the Chairman.

The executive chairman of Etung LGA Ntufam hon (comr) John Nkom Etuk have build from the crash to the finish an accommodative and modern edifice which will be used by the legislature as chambers for sessions as well as offices.
Even with relatively lime resources and challenging economic state in the country, Hon Nkom have end himself a record that is uncommon in the Annals of Etung history as one chairman who have embarked on such an infrastructural project barely within a year in office.
Pet media and events can report that the chambers is set to be commissioned within this month by his Excellency the digital Governor of CRS as designed by the Executive chairman of Etung LGA.
As the build up for the APC ward, chapter,state & National Congress draws near, many political leaders in CRS are beginning to share their views on the process.
Accros party lines, the Cross River State inter party advisory council IPAC have recently advised his Excellency the digital Governor of CRS to ensure inclusion in the selection process to bury the issue of divides resurfacing in the party.
On a separate note, fmr Sen prince Bassey Otu have equally commented on the issue of congresses.

The Leadership of the Cross River State Young and Emerging Political Leader Forum is set to Award it’s Grand Patron, His Excellency Sen. Prof. Ben Ayade the Executive Governor of Cross River State in a special ‘Thank You’ dinner.
