*Obubra-Etung political Assembly Endorse Gov’t Otu,Odey for 2nd term, Demands leadership change in fed.  Constituency*


The Obubra-Etung political Assembly led by  comr Ejeh peter has endorsed His Excellency, sen.prince Bassey Edet Otu the Executive Governor of Cross River State & His Deputy Rt Hon Peter Odey for a second in office.

The Assembly, led by the Director General Comr Ejeh peter  held the  largely Attended mega Endorsement Rally at Ovonum crutech field  Obubra on Thursday 18th December 2025 to declare their total support for the sweet Governor of Cross River State and His deputy.

Ejeh, Addressing the crowd moved a motion for the endorsement of the Governor, Senator, Prince Bassey Edet Otu and His deputy Rt Hon Peter Odey for a second term and the adoption in favour of both of them was done by a voice note in favour of both of them.

Speaking further, he however decried the current reality of the  supposed misrepresentation of the federal constituency administration while urgent Ayuk to venture in to race giving assurance of the Assembly full backings and support come 2027.

“Our people needs good roads interventions, infrastructures,Real empowerment from our constituency too. We are advocates for good governance and our people better. We are currently consoled by the sweetness of the season and the impact of the Governor so far but we are yet to feel  a lot of democratic gains from the current representation.Therefor, we demand  a chance by 2027 & we are confident that Dr Ayuk can take us to the promise land”

Speaking at the event, The chief Host who is a former Chairman of Obubra local Government Area,Dr Kyrian Mfam expressed his satisfaction in the performance of The Governor so far.

“I am standing here today as a son of the soil because this great event is happening in my community to declare my support for the Governor of Cross River State for the second term because he is doing well and will continue to do well” he said.

On his part, the Hon commissioner for Health,Dr Henry Egbe Ayuk who represented the Governor reiterating his commitment & total loyalty to the Governor remarked very clearly that he supported in totality the Agenda of the Obubra -Etung political Assembly because it objectives aligns completely with the Governors people’s first Agenda of Good Governance and Democratic gains. He boldly reaffirmed his ever willing disposition to continually support any Agenda promoting and supporting the Governor.

” My support for the Governor is Total & we will support him at all times even beyond 20231. He is a good man who is delivering 100% on his mandate and we continue to give him our support. Thank our Chiefs,women and youth for being a part of this activities.

The Obubra-Etung political Assembly led by comr Ejeh peter has hinted that with the commitment of the special Assistant on support groups matters Comr (Prince) Clement Asanye the APC unified support groups in the state will give more votes to His Excellency,Sen Prince Bassey Edet Otu and other candidates by 2027.

Addressing the special Assistant during a courtesy visit to office in calabar on Wednesday morning,Sen Atu Alfred the BOT chairman of the Obubra -Etung political Assembly mentioned that with the manner at which the special Assistant has coordinated the activities of the support groups in the state so far, the Governor is set to receive far more votes by 2027.

Also speaking the Director General,Comr Ejeh peter noted that, the people’s first Agenda is bringing so much sweetness in the state.

He thanked the Comr (Prince) Clement Asanye for his dedication to duty and for strengthening the coordination of support groups in the state.

The special Assistant, responding to the visit thanked his Excellency the Governor for giving him the opportunity to serve attributing all glory to him. He Explained the efforts and programs the Office is putting together to ensure the Governor’s victory by 2027, While hailing the Obubra -Etung political Assembly planned mega Endorsement Rally for the Governor by Thursday December 18th at Obubra.

The Obubra -Etung political Assembly led by the Director General Comr Ejeh peter has engaged communities in Obubra -Etung federal constituency calling for massive support for Excellency,Sen Prince Bassey Edet Otu led Government beyond 2027.

The Assembly used the opportunity of the Ward tour to announce their intention to endorse the Governor of Cross River State and His deputy on Thursday the 18th December at Ovonum, Obubra LGA by 10am & to sensitize the communities on voters registration & the Assembly objectives.

Speaking at the pre- mega Rally Ward tour at Bendeghe Ekien in Etung LGA on Friday 5th December,The DG stressed the need for all to continue to support the people’s first Government of the sweet prince. He added that, The Honourable commissioner for Health Cross River State,Dr Henry Egbe Ayuk who is a proud son of the soil should be supported at all times and even be projected for future political endeavors to strengthen the community political leavarage even at the National level.

The event which was highly attended by the community chiefs,The Councillor representing the Ward Hon Bitty Tangban amongst other personalities had Hon comr Bitty Obibia as the chairman of the event.

Marking their remarks, The chiefs of the community declared their total support for the Government of the day in affirmation to remarks of Director General of Obubra -Etung political and the chairman of the event while appealing for more political dividends from the Government to the community.

In another face of the community engagement meeting by the Assembly which was held at Ofudua,Obubra on Monday 8th December 2025,The BOT chairman of the Assembly Atu Alfred addressing the members reiterated the group commitment to the people’s first Agenda cross River State, Again, he thanked all members for their support to Assembly. He decried the poor developmental stage of the Obubra -Etung federal constituency owing to bad leadership.

King Omeyi,comr Moses Oden,Mr patija amongst other coordinators who spoke at the gathering lamented the backwardness of the constituency in developmental issues, calling on Government at all level to act accordingly to reduce the suffering of the people. They commented on the hardwork, dedication and effective service delivery of Dr Ayuk as commissioner, upholding him as Leader boarding leaders should emulate,while expressing their readiness to work with him in any future endeavor.

The Director General of the Obubra -Etung political Assembly,Comr Ejeh peter Peter has announce in clear terms that the Obubra -Etung political Assembly will not throw their weight behind any aspirant that lacks credibility and is not in line with the mission & vision of the Assembly for good governance.

The Director General made this known during a highly strategic session with key stakeholders of the Etung wind of the Assembly, stressing that, it is time to set the record on some rising questions of who the Assembly will be supporting for the Senate seat of central cross River State by 2027.

” I have been enaundated with calls and massages with regards to our position as an Assembly on who the Assembly will be supporting for the Senate of Central cross River State and I think is timely for us to begin to get this record straight.

We will support candidates that are credible and committed to our Assembly. U can’t seek to represent us but can’t take calls, reply massages and most importantly reach out to the people you seek to represent. How then can you understand and represent their interest in the National Assembly.

We will engage our sweet Governor and key stake holders on our interest going forward but for now we are still watching out for the best feet amongst the contenders ” he said.

Also commenting on the issue, Mr Ojong Atim upheld that the Assembly position is other and members are committed to the same course to the later.

However, as the game for who clinch the ticket by 2027 continue to draw close, senator Eteng Williams, Hon Oden Ewa,Endearance Okpa, Michael Bassey amongst others seems to be contenders for the position.

The leader of Etung Legislative council Hon Comr Ojong ThankGod Ekupnse has empowered constituents with cash and school material to support returning students and freshers as  well as members of the The Abia student association to enable them cope with Academic needs.

Again, the woman and chiefs were not left out as a reasonable number of women were given rappers to the women, while the Chief received succour.

This gesture rating one of its kind in the Annuals of the community was carried out by the leader of council as part of activities to mark his one in office thanksgiving at Abia village in Etung LGA two Sundays ago at as the time of this publication.

The Event, which equally had a church session with chairmaned by Bishop Hon Christian Achor Agbor the political leader of the Ward and Director General of the Ikom urban development authority.

In his remarks, Ojong noted that this is one of the ways of servicing the community for the mandate given to him to serve his people.

” today, we are gathered at my instance in thanksgiving to God for the mandate you people gave to me, first as Councillor representing Abia Ward and secondly as leader of Etung council.

I have some items for the student and women as application for the journey so far and more will as time goes by.” He said.

During their remarks amongst others, the leaders of Ikom and Obubra legislative council expressed their gratitude to the leader of Etung for such gesture noting that nothing less was expected of him.

The event was greased by all round dignitaries including the 10 Councillors of the various Ward of Etung.

Commissioner Ayuk visits Obubra, reechoes need for change in leadership and more effective representation for federal constituency.

This weekend the C’River Commissioner for Health Hon Dr Egbe made three important visits to Obubra LGA communities.

At Ovonum where he was received by traditional rulers and leaders of the community at Ovonum Health Center, the Commissioner reiterated Gov Otu’s people centered mantra and promised immediate uplift of the facility.

At Ogada in Obubra Urban, where he was hosted by a volunteer peace and security corps, he promised to assist with procurement of necessary tools to strengthen their operations.

He ended the day at Ochon where he was hosted at Treasure Hotel by its owner Mr Egare alias 001, Mr John Okpa alias Long John and other youths.

In all three locations, the common denominator in his message was the total support for Governor Otu to finish strong and win 2027. He told the people of Obubra and Etung to rise and brace up for a change for an effective, pragmatic and performing representation of the federal constituency devoid of emotional narratives. A leadership owes its constituents service not number of tenures in office.

” Our Dear Governor His Excellency Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu my Boss is performing Excellency well. We shall continue to support him and return him come 2027 for a second term; Our Support is total for our Governor.

Our federal constituency need a driving force that will help our party fast track to victory seamlessly,therefore, Obubra -Etung people must rise and brace up for a change for effective, pragmatic and performing representation of the federal constituency devoid of emotional narratives. In what seems like the same concerns, by all Obubra Leaders who spoke at various instances suggest the long lasting neglect of expected service from some office holders at the constituency level.

Obubra-Etung political Assembly Flags-off Ward by ward tour in Etung LGA,Rally community Support for Gov’t Otu,others,ahead organic constituency endorsement Mega Rally for 2027

The Obubra-Etung political Assembly has on Tuesday the 21st of November at Ajassor in Etung LGA officially flagged-off a Ward by ward tour to be effected across the 21 wards that makes up the 21 Wards in Obubra-Etung federal constituency.

The event which took place at osele events center at Ajassor mission had in attendance meaningful personalities to include, community based leaders, Youths and women groups amongst others.

Addressing guests at the event, The Director General Comr Ejeh peter who spoke in a writing address through the secretary general Engr Ephraim Akamo noted that the activity is meant to reawaken community consciousness to the current reality of the constituency politics, create awareness for more community participation in the ongoing voters registration, calvanize support for the constituency organic Mega Rally of His Excellency, Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu,His Deputy and other key positions ahead of 2027.

“We are here simply to engage with the Grass Root on the need to get their voters card ready for 2027 and that’s why we are saying operation get your voters card ready for 2027. Again, we shall as a group put together a mega endorsement Rally for Good Governance in the shortest possible time. We will endorse our sweet Governor and all our preferred candidates. It’s going to be an organic endorsement because is coming from the Grass root & community based leaders and besides, 95% of working members putting this event together are people without government offices, so is very organic.” He said.

The Director General appreciated the efforts and commitments of the central Excos,chapters Excos,the Ward coordinators, the BOT chairman Atu Alfred and his members and the entire team for their relentless efforts in seeing to the success of the occasion. Dr Ayuk Announces Education support scheme,engage women wind of political Assembly.

The Honourable commissioner for Health Cross River State,Eld Dr Henry Egbe Ayuk has announced Educational support scheme for JSS1 students of the Obubra -Etung federal constituency set to commence in a couple of days.

Addressing the women wind of the Obubra -Etung political Assembly during a courtesy visit to his office in calabar, Ayuk explained that the initiative is to encourage Educational drive from the kindergarten level going forward.

“It is my desire to see our young people continue to develop and grow. Education is one of the main strands of development and our constituency needs it to develop. This scheme is better and more resourceful than sharing spoil and unproductive items in the guise of empowerment. This scheme is starting with the JSS1 students of all public schools in Obubra and Etung and will encourage our young students to be encouraged to study further. Ayuk said.

Reiterating his support for the group, Ayuk used the opportunity to recount the positive impact of the Governor Otu’s People’s first administration and stressed on the need for all to support the Governor even beyond 2031.

In their comments, Mrs Rose Ntui and Pastor (Mrs) Magdalene Ovat eugolised Ayuk’s effort in repositioning the Health sector in the state, Ranking his performance as the Best in the country and the best in the state.

Barr Gilbert Agbor Hails Gov’t Otu strides in Governance,Receives women wind of Obubra -Etung political Assembly

The Special Adviser on Assets management and Recovery CRS,Barr Gilbert Agbor has recounted the many giant strikes of His Excellency, Sen Prince Bassey Edet Otu as Governor of Cross River State so far.

Agbor who drums the people’s support for the Governor beyond 2031 stated that the sweetness of the season is felt all across the state, hence welcoming and supporting the group intentions to endorse the Governor.

“Our Dear Governor has continued to do well and must be supported beyond 2031. True Governance has returned to the state,roads are been constructed, infrastructures are out in place and the people are happy.”

In a turn out of events as the build up to the 2027 General elections continue to draw close, Barr Gilbert Agbor the special Adviser to the Governor of Cross River State on Assets management and Recovery has refuted the claims by the NCPP in a recent media publication requesting him to run for the house of representative seat for Obubra Etung federal constituency by 2027.

This decision follows a publication by the group  inviting Agbor to come out and contest and express the group firm support for him should  he decides to contest.

On his part, the director General of the Obubra -Etung political Assembly,Comr Ejeh peter has described Barr Gilbert Agbor as a very good man who’s leadership charisma is admired by not only young people.

” This is yet again another wonder of Barr Gilbert Agbor. He’s loving, determined and very focused in his dealings and I am appreciating him for his genuing response to the NCPP over the call to contest the our federal House representative seat by 2027.

Gilbert has chosen a part to victory and we will continue to support that part because it is the right thing to do.”

The event which took place at the cross River State library early hours of Tuesday morning the 2nd of September 2025 had in attendance the state Governor, Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu who was ably represented by the speaker of the cross River State House of Assembly and other top government officials to mark the event.

In solidarity to Gilbert, members of the students body chorus in solidarity the personality and leadership qualities of the the legal luminary and politician describing him as a leader for the people,by the person and with the people.

The Director General of the Obubra -Etung political Assembly,Comr Ejeh peter who also spoke at the scene addressed the students describing Barr Gilbert as a leader born born and destined to be a destiny helper to this generation explaining that his leadership gesture will endear to even greater responsibilities. He introduced him as a comrade per excellence and as a student leader of all time.

On his part, the special Adviser thanked the students for the massive show of solidarity to him

” I am grateful for the extra ordinary show of solidarity,when you see ur leader passing by and you insist on greeting him, for me it’s shows respect and it’s connects us as a people.

The Obubra -Etung political Assembly has commended the Hon.commissioner for Health Cross River State,Dr Henry Egbe Ayuk PhD on the occasion of his 2nd year in office as commissioner.

Speaking at the reception ceremony late hour’s of Sunday afternoon the 17th of August 2025.at Barr Gilbert Agbor country home at Etomi, Apst Dr Ken Agbor noted that the health reforms and program ongoing in the state is a statement of the personality of the Commissioner.

Obubra-Etung Political Assembly: A Movement With Shared Vision And Purpose.

In the darkest state of political neglect and misrepresentation, a vision was born that is channeled towards the emancipation of the Obubra-Etung people.

An idea not conceived of politics, but of tenacity. A vision not about an individual, but about a formidable movement geared towards the betterment of the Obubra-Etung Federal Constituency.

This political crusade came into play at a time when our voices as electorates are no longer being heard by the elected. Barr Johnson Ebokpo chairs inaugural ceremony of Obubra -Etung political Assembly,says 2027 will be full of fresh Air

The Obubra-Etung political Assembly has on Saturday the 16th of August inaugurated it’s Wards,Chapter and Central Excos of the Assembly at Obubra.

The event which took place at Kings Bar had in attendance over 300 hundred members of group spanning from the 21 wards of the constituency.

Speaking at the event, Barr John Ebokpo who chaired the event although represented by chief Julius Ebingha stressed on the need of continued unity amongst the Local Governments that makes up the constituency.

Drawing back memory lane, the chairman noted the strategic role of late Chief John Okpa The political Build up the constituency the birthed Late Hon Ebuta Tangban and advocated political fresh air by 2027 to user in leaders that will stay true to the people.

Also speaking at the event,Hon Raymond the Leader of Obubra legislative council congratulated the group for a laudable iniative stressing on the need for Good Governance in the constituency.

It was a gloomy day for the cross River State Health Commissioner,Dr Henry Egbe Ayuk PhD as the reputation team of the Obubra/Etung political Assembly decorated him as the leader and Grand patron of the of the Assembly in Grand style on Wednesday the 9th of July at his office in calabar.

Addressing the Commissioner for Health minutes before the decoration, the team led and the director General of the group Comr Ejeh peter took time to unveil the ideology and objectives of the group to include political emancipation.

“We are delibrate and intentional about the growth,development and the political emancipation of our federal constituency. We are not throwing tantrums on any leader but we will be making a bold Statement as our interest for the federal seat,senate and the Governorship positions.

” We are working across bored.God willing before the second quarter of next year we will transform the existing leprosy facility into a standard center for TB treatment. Leprosy is no longer prevalent as it were, hence,no use of the current facilities, that is why we must remodel that place for effective use TB purpose.

On the 15th of August at my home town God willing I will be flagging the health insurance scheme for twenty vulnerable persons each across the twenty one wards that makes up the Obubra/Etung federal constituency for two years. The scheme is sponsored from my personal source”he Said.

He added that the on going revitalization of over 82 primary Health care facilities in state, the ongoing general hospital project at ikom, the remodeling of the Akpabuyo referral hospital into General hospital and the entire restructuring of the Health ministry is highly commendable.

Obubra/Etung political Assembly pays consultative visit to special Adviser on Assets management and Recovery  Barr Gilbert Agbor in calabar.

The Obubra/Etung political Assembly led by the Director General,Comr Ejeh peter has on Wednesday the 9th of July 2025 paid a consultative courtesy visit to the special Adviser on Assets management and Recovery cross River State,Barr Gilbert Agbor in calabar.

Speaking at the visit, the Director General noted that the visit was to introduce the group,its objective, Believes and equally honour the highly placed special Adviser as legal advicer of the group taking into consideration his political pedigree in Obubra /Etung federal constituency and the state at large.

Speaking also at the meeting,the BOT chairman Atu Alfred congratulated the special Adviser for the public commendation of His starling performance by His Excellency, the Governor of Cross River State,Apst Prince Bassey Edet Otu at the recent Exco meeting.

Recall that  Governor Otu in the last Exco meeting publicly commended the Effort to the special Adviser on Assets management and Recovery, standing out for his effective service delivery in the state.

Hon Priscilla Ekwu, the director of women mobilization of the group called for the support of women in the constituency by special Adviser  at all times, declearing the groups readiness to drive a chance in the political landscape of the federal constituency.

The high point of the event was the conferment of the legal advicer office by group on Barr Gilbert which was done by Apst Dr Ken Agbor.

“We are particular about the change and progress of Obubra/Etung federal constituency politically and in essence our development as a whole. We are doing u this honour because honour can only be given by another man to another man, therefore, this legal responsibility was informed by your antecedents. Congratulations” Agbor said.

As part of activities to consolidate the spread of endorsements for the second team bid of His Excellency,Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu and his Deputy,stakeholders speaking at Etung endorsement Rally has Eulogized the remarkable and clear achievement of the Government in the Health Sector.

Speaking at the event which took place on Friday the 20th June at the local Government headquarters in Effraya, Prince Ebuta Ojong Ayuk a former presidential adviser who was the chairman of the event described the activity of the Health ministry lead by Dr Henry Egbe Ayuk as satisfactory.

He noted that,the news trends have always put the activities of the ministry under Ayuk caring out one impactful project or the other almost weekly.

He clearly stated that,the ministry has been reawaken and effective at the coming the Governor who appointed a very able hand and a true son of the soul Dr Henry Egbe Ayuk to head the ministry at this point.

“I want to thank His Excellency the Governor for changing the narrative of Governance in cross River State and particularly appointed Dr Henry Egbe Ayuk into the ministry of Health.

The Health ministry was almost death before Dr Ayuk was appointed and i thank God that the ministry is back alive again.Today, we have on going renovations of About 6 Health facilities in Etung LGA and there is no passing week we don’t read or hear of one Health activity or the other with so much profound impact” he said.

C’River Youths To Build Careers Outside Politics-Hon Bassey

The Executive Chairman of Akpabuyo local government area, Hon. Effiong Bassey Effiom has admonished youths of Cross River State to build viable careers even while monitoring political developments.
He made this assertion during a courtesy visit on him by organizers of the the much anticipated Cross River State Political Summit.

Hon. Bassey Effiom noted that while government policies has consequential effects on almost every facet of human endeavors, competency deduced from career progression remains surest path to human capital development with a cascaded impact on society.

The Executive Chairman also advocated for restoration of social orders against the growing trends of ‘get rich quick’ syndrome reflective in increased cybercrimes, kidnapping for ransom, ritual killings among other social vices eroding values, emphasizing both short and long term implications of such practices in the nation.

The Akpabuyo Council boss sued organizers of the summit to seize the occasion to reinvigorate family values that defines traditional African aesthetics.
While pledging unalloyed support for the Summit, her urged that the gathering be a fertile ground for cross-fertilization of ideas in line with His Excellency, Sen. Prince Bassey Edet Otu’s developmental blueprint for the state as christine in his ‘People First’ mantra.

Meanwhile, Comr. Ejeh Peter, the state Coordinator and Prince Atibile Williams, Boki local government area Coordinator for the Summit in their opening remarks on behalf of the delegation noted that the forthcoming event serves as breeding ground for emerging leaders in the state to learn the ropes of leadership with a view to changing the sociopolitical and economic trajectory of Cross River State, leveraging on the vast youth demography.
These speakers appealed to the elite class for mentorship with reciprocal effects on the people’s paradise state.

This historic Summit billed for 29 May, 2025 promises to be engaging, inspiring and a spring board for mental emancipation and improved spirit of enterprise amongst the teeming youths.

As the date for the proposed CRS political Summit draws closer, the organizers of the summit has continued to engage more political stakeholders ahead of time.

Under the initiative and proactive leadership of Ntufam Hon Patrick Ebam Emmanghe as the President General of Ochimabiji Nkan Esam cultural festival, Etomi community is set to be experiencing strengthened unity, showcasing team spirit and promoting culture.

The 7th edition of this annual epoch making festival was again held at the primary school field at Etomi community in Etung LGA on Thursday 2nd January 2025 attracting personalities across the globe.

Addressing the crowd, the president general Hon Ebam noted that the steadfastness of the event have been dependent on God and ingenuity of the organizing team for each year. He thanked the various age grades for their commitment to the success of the festival with specification to the strategic role of the Coordinator , Dr Cyril Agbor and planning committee chairman, Mr Ntui Emmanuel Abba Mowoe.

The event featured age grades parade, Cultural displays, Empowerment as well as lecture and good – will speeches.

During his lecture, the guest speaker, a political big wig Ntufam Hon Gabriel Odu Oji called for the remodification of some community rules to enhance development.

Hosting the 2025 National Council on Health Will Bring About Real Change In C’River Health Sector- Health Commissioner

The Cross River State Commissioner for Health Dr Egbe Ayuk has told participants at the ongoing World Bank assisted IMPACT Training Conference on quality of care in Calabar that Cross River will be hosting the next National Council on Health in 2025.

The Commissioner who was full of praises for the Governor of the State His Excellency Prince Bassey Edet Otu for making this possible told his audience that the decision was taken through a competitive process at the recently held 65th National Council on Health in Maiduguri Borno State.

He said that by the 2014 National Health Act, the National Council on Health remains the highest level for decision making on health, it approves National policies relating to health and enables the provision of health promotion, maintenance and basic health services for the country.

It will engineer real change in the health sector of Cross River State through effective participation by stakeholders in the state, memo development, shared learning and peer reviews with stakeholders from other parts of the country and international community. He enjoined the State and its entire health workforce to show more commitment towards health service delivery and be prepared to showcase best practices in the State Health sector to the world
Speaking earlier the Director of Cross River State Primary Healthcare Development Agency Dr Vivian Otu had admonished participants at the training to maximize the opportunity the training offers to enhance their use of the tools to improve quality of services be delivered in the health facilities in the State

The 2024 Ikom carnival has been concluded today with Yakurr LGA Led By Hon Cyril Omini winning the first position with Etung LGA coming second.

The member representing Etung in the cross River State House of Assembly, Ntufam (Evang.) (Hon) Kingsley Ntui has been conferred with a Chieftaincy title as” Ntufam “Osanghane 1” of Ajassor community in Etung LGA.

This Honour was bestowed on him by the paramount Ruler (elect) of Etung LGA,His Royal Majesty, Ntufum Anthony Ntui Etta, on the occasion of his Thanksgiving reception ceremony in appreciation to God Almighty for his election victory.

In his address, Hon Cyril James Omini, member Representing Yakurr 1 State Constituency and Chairman, House Committee on Finance and Appropriation, described Isong as a man true to responsibility at anytime, a team playing, fearless in his approach to issues and will always go for what he wants and believes in.

Institutionalize Incentivized Systems to Improve Staff Performance in Higher Institutions- Ayuk

The Cross River State Commissioner for Health, Dr Henry Egbe Ayuk has advocated for improved incentives to encourage staff performance in institutions of higher learning in Nigeria.

The Commissioner who was speaking at the maiden Awards Ceremony of the College of Medical Sciences of the University of Calabar on Friday advised Universities and similar institutions to institutionalize policies to strengthen reward systems to enhance performance and attainment of goals.

He said that human resources remain a most important factor for organizational growth and scorecard performance. He praised Prof Ngim Ngim the Provost of the Medical College and his team for organizing the week program to reward retired workers of the college, former management staff, sport men and women and students with peculiar skills. Dr Ayuk urged other institutions to emulate this pace setting example to provide a excellent work environment for staff promotion and performance

Earlier the the Provost of the College Prof Ngim said the program to incentivize staff and students of the medical college was conceived to immortalize hard work and encourage staff and students to commit more to the service of the College. Speaking at the inaugural ceremony which took place at the House of Assembly complex Hall in calabar on Wednesday 23rd October, Ayuk expressed his unreserved commitment to the Academic development of the Etung people.

“I will support all students from entry level as long as they are of Health related courses from Etung. I will equally encourage this current students Government to do well. The newly inaugurated president should do well to provide a template to drive this process he said.

The inauguration had Comr Oku,Maru Ojong as president and Comr Itauma Daniel a formal Sug president as Secretary amongst others Executives members to rap up the newly inaugurated Executives.

The event was chaired by Hon. Cross River State Health Commissioner hails Nurses as he commissions two Buses powered by Mrs Josephine Bassey’s led administrative council of Nigerian Nurses & midwifes cross River State chapter.

It was a very colorful event yesterday October 23rd 2024 at calabar as the cross River State Health Commissioner, Dr Henry Egbe Ayuk PhD joined by the Head of service,NLCCRS chairman amongst other dignitaries commissioned two super Buses as major achievements to mark Mrs Josephine Bassey led administration 365 days in office as the president council of Nigeria nurses and midwifes CRS chapter.

In his remarks, Ayuk noted that this is a rare accomplishment emanating from a Union body in the Health sector. He commended the leadership of the Union for their effort towards the enhancement of nursing activities in the state stressing that CRS Health workers and nurses in particular are good people,hence they must continue to support Government to deliver more dividends of democracy.

” nursing is a unique profession and CRS nurses have demonstrated so far that they are good people. The achievements of this leadership is very commendable by Government and the Government of His Excellency, the sweet prince will be support activities in the state geared towards promoting peace and human development”he said.

On his part, Eld Obeten Obeten who represented the CRS head of service noted that their commission will continue to support nurses activities in the state in other to achieve more useful results.He thanked the Health Commissioner for his deliberate support towards the nursing union in the state.

The NLC chairman addressing the crowd stressed on the need for Government to be more committed in bettering the working conditions of workers in the state.

Mrs Josephine Bassey the chairman of the Union also announced other faces of success recorded by her leadership to include, ruboost welfare scheme to members amongst other things.

The occasion was climax by the cutting of the anniversary cake and the commissioning of Two Buses by The cross River State Health Commissioner.

Accordingly, the cross River State Health Commissioner, Dr Henry Egbe Ayuk PhD has disclosed his line of interest in support of the aspiration of Hon Henry Njar Anom a native of mkpot community in the South part of Etung LGA as the best footing of the APC for the LGA election holding in a couple of days in cross River State.

Other projects already designed to take off include the construction of modular refineries, an LNG plant, and a Natural Gas Processing complex in distributed parts of the state for the production of LPG, CNG, NGL, and other marketable natural gas liquids. The Success of these projects would be a landmark achievement in the country, making it the first time a Nigerian State Government will collaborates with private investors to establish a gas processing complex and an LNG plant to boost the economy of the state.
In the aspects of solid mineral development, Prince Ogar and his team have already designed activities involving the establishment of processing plants for solid minerals. The application of oil blocks has been submitted, and the ministry has researched and initiated exploration activities, holding several meetings with the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation NNPC and other critical stakeholders to align their efforts and ensure a smooth process.
The state government has also made arrangements to build Cross mega stations in the north, central, and southern zones of the state as pilot projects , and these projects will further create employment opportunities, and this also will bring about a drastic reduction of fuel scarcity prevalent in most parts of the country.
As a state with vast oil and solid minerals deposits, it is pertinent to train indigenes of the state in mining, and in the oil and gas know- how, as this will prepare them as requisite man-power for these projects. It is for this reason and many more that the agency, in collaboration with the state government is poised on the establishment of Geological Institute of Research and Development in Hydrocarbon and Solid minerals in the state.
In order to create a friendly environment for these litany of projects, the agency will be setting up camps in operational areas in the North, central, and southern parts of the state to coordinate with the indigenes on the oil and gas communities in order to avoid militancy in the state…..

The cross River State Head of service Dr Innocent Eteng has poured Eulogy to the Cross River State Health Commissioner Dr Henry Egbe Ayuk PhD and the Health ministry for hosting the first ever send off ceremony in the ministry.

Yesterday, I received on behalf of Mr. Roland Egbe Achor, a prestigious award of Honour from the Etung Students’ Association, University of Calabar Chapter, as ably led by Comr Patrick Alobi.

It was a nice event and I commend the leadership of the students for keeping up with the laudable initiative.

Mr Roland Egbe Achor was a one time Secretary of the above Union and his track records are clear and satisfactory, hence, deserving of the award.

The occasion afforded me the opportunity of reuniting with an academic icon Prof. Emeritus of Dillard University, USA, Nchor B Okorn, the Etung APC Chapter Chairman, Hon. Erig, the Member Representing Etung in the House of Assembly, Hon. Kingsley Ntui, Mr. Joel Ndifon, a Lecturer of Philosophy Department, University of Calabar, and a proud son of Etung who distinguished himself in academics, backing a First Class Honours Degree, and amongst others who were also beneficiaries of the award ceremony.

Amongst other things, the occasion was a pointer to the unity and hard work that the Etung people are known for. The ceremony served as an avenue to encourage the Students on the need to always strive for the best in their educational pursuits. It afforded me the opportunity to once again ruminate and be entertained on my Culture, Tradition, and Heritage.

king of boys Mr Amba Obaji pays solidarity visit to the Special adviser on climate change CRS Dr Ramsey Ebam Ndep

The supplimentary member representing Abia ward in the Cocoa Allocation committee Mr Amba Obaji popularly known as king of boys has payed a solidarity visit to congratulate Dr Ramsey Ebam Ndep who was very recently Appointed as the special adviser on climate change cross River State by His Excellency, Sen Prince Bassey Edet Otu.

The visit took place at the residence of the special adviser at ikom. Addressing the special adviser, Mr Obaji described his appointment as timely stating that it’s a round peg in a round hole.

In his response, Dr Ramsey expressed his heart felt gratitude to the King of boys team indicating that,this is the first official team to congratulate him in person since his announcement as special adviser.

He stressed that, Climate change is everybody’s business and the office is seemingly an international responsibility and everyone should get involved in the mandate delivery going forward.

Earlier today, I received the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital, for the Niger Delta Development Commission’s (NDDC) Executive Management Engagement with Niger Delta Ethnic Nationalities and Selected Stakeholders.

The event featured strong words of assurance from Niger Delta youths, who expressed their unalloyed commitment to the success of the President Bola Tinubu administration. They also declared that the proposed nationwide protests by some youths would not take place in the nine states of the Niger Delta, describing the region as a protest-free zone.

I must commend the NDDC for launching a Youth Internship Scheme, which will engage 10,000 youths from the Niger Delta region. The program is designed to improve their skills, and beneficiaries in the first phase will receive N50,000 monthly.

In his usual philanthropist gesture, he splash a token of about five hundred thousand naira (500000) in support of the dedication ceremony. Again,women and youths who attended the occasion benefited from this charitable gesture as he equally shared about a Hundred thousand naira for the crowed who attended the event.

Political big wigs of Etung LGA in Cross River State including the Commissioner for Health CRS Dr Henry Egbe Ayuk and the former commissioner for water Resources CRS Hon Gab Odu Oji amongst others were in attendance to grease the occasion.

Dr Ayuk stated that they was absolutely no need to disrupt the peace of any community under any guise insisting on total support for Government for better dividends.

Abia Community hails king of boys over equitable distribution of 20 Hecters of Cocoa

The Abia Community in Etung LGA have expressed their satisfaction in the fairness displayed by Mr Augustine Amba Obaji popularly known as King of boys who was very recently given the responsibility as the suplimentary member representing Abia Ward in the Cocoa allocation committee over the equitable distribution of the 20 Hecters of Cocoa plots given to the community to make up for those who couldn’t make the list in the major allocation.

Speaking at the town hall meeting on Thursday afternoon,the youths leader mr Edoghane Ntui Stated his contentment in the process voicing that this is the very first time in the anals of the community experiencing such an event as compared to sons and daughters who have been previously given the same responsibility over the years.

He gave his words in support and exclaimed the youths readiness to work with the King of boys in other future endeavors.

In the same vain,the Former youths leader Comr Elvis Amba outlined the importance & significance of the gathering while acknowledging the member as a very strategic political team player who is playing in the right direction,hence pledging his support for the suplimentary member going forward.

Also speaking,Mr Obi Njar(Adabayo) critically commended the efforts of the king of boys for even having the courage of coming down to the people to announce the list of the beneficiaries in a town hall setting, describing the gesture as unigue and a total expression of fairness by the member in service to his people.

On his part,the chairman of Abia Community ministers forum Rev. Fr Moses Ogar used the opportunity of the meeting to challenge the community on good morals.
