Commissioner Ayuk, Stephen Odey,Ijom Ukam,Eka Williams,Capt Eno dedicates people’s first Award to Gov’t Otu’s people’s centered developmental strides.
It was an epoch-making event in calabar on Friday 31st July 2026 where about five Governor Otu’s commissioners were Honored with the cross River State people’s first impact for the service delivery and impact in upholding the people’s first mantra of His Excellency,Sen Prince Bassey Edet Otu led Administration.
Recall, That the Commissioner for Education Sen (prof) Stephen Odey, the commissioner for Health Dr Henry Egbe Ayuk, the commissioner for Youths development and skills acquisition Barr Ijom Ukam,The commissioner for power and renewable energy Hon Eka Williams and the commissioner for Aviation Capt. Eno amongst other personalities have been nominated some days back to receive this Honour in various categories.
Speaking at the event shortly after receiving the Award, commissioner Ayuk took time to mention key health reforms going on the state and attributed the successe(s) to Gov’t Otu deliberate effort in positioning Cross River State and particularly the health sector with global standards even before completing his second tenure.
In his response, The Honourable commissioner for Youths development and skills acquisition Barr Ijom Ukam dedicated the Award to His Excellency the Governor for giving him The platform to serve.
“Let me thank the organizers of this very unique occasion for a job well done. To the glory of God, this Award would not have been made possible if his Excellency had not appointed me to Head the Youths sector in the state and so, I dedicate this Honour to him and the Youths of cross River State for giving me the enabling grounds to achieve all what we have achieved so far as as a ministry. We have empowered several Youths in skill acquisition and have strengthened partnerships with private organizations that have impacted the lives of so many Youths in the state.” Among things He said
On his part, Hon Eka Williams who was equally present at the ceremony encouraged the organizers to continue to showcase the true ideals of the people’s first Government, while recounting the many giant strides of his ministry describing Governor Otu as driver of true renewable energy in the state. He explained that, Governor Otu has created a road for sustainable power and renewable energy in the state while reiterating that meaningful projects in the sector have been completed and others have a very quality frame work and will be completed accordingly.
The Chief Executive officer of pet media and events Comr Ejeh peter while acknowledging the impact of the Ministry of Education said that, the Education ministry in the state has recorded significant Results and impact under the watch of Sen prof Stephen Odey who was at the time in Abuja for a nation assignment and will be presented with the Honour upon his return.
Also responding to the Award, The representative of Commissioner for Aviation Capt Eno Express deep satisfaction at the outcome of the event. He explained that the caliber of the Awardees truly explained and measures the level of impact the Government is making at various levels and expresses the impact and level of performances of The administration at various levels. He further mentioned that, cross River State no longer has major issues of “no flights” as it were back in the days.
